Can I bring my own garments?

As apparel supply is a core part of our business, we prefer to provide the garments we print. However, you are welcome to bring your own, but please note that our bundled pricing may offer better value to you due to our preferential purchasing arrangements with our suppliers. If you are thinking about purchasing apparel for us to decorate, please consider the following:

• Quality. As we do not QC customer supplied goods before printing, you will need to check the stock carefully before shipping it to our warehouse.

• Printability. Not all garments are suitable for all applications, and we cannot guarantee the printability of your goods. Please check with us prior to purchasing any stock, as it is very important that it’s suitable for the work you have booked.

• Print Faults. Although we take every possible care with our customers stock, mistakes do happen. Your shirts = Your risk.

• Extra Charges. To avoid handling fees, please ensure your goods are clearly labeled and boxed ready to unpack and print, with no individual packaging. The stock must match the work instructions in regard to print names, fabric colours and sizes.

What kind of inks do you use?

We use Plastisol, Waterbase and Hybrid Acrylic ink systems. Unless our customers make a specific request, we select the most appropriate ink for the print, to do this we consider the design, the fabric and your end-use requirements.

Are your inks non-toxic?

All our inks are non-toxic and safe for wear after printing. In line with best practice in our industry, we have begun to phase out the use of inks containing Pthalates and high levels of Formaldehyde, and are proud to be the first printers in Australia to offer PVC free solutions that meet the standards of international sportswear companies. It is our company policy to use best in class inks with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certification where available.

How long will my screens be kept? What about repeat orders?

Except for screens used for our pre-production and salesman sample service, we do not hold customer stencils on screen after printing. Due to the large number of jobs we produce every week, we constantly reuse our screens for new jobs. We add the films from your print setup to our client library so we can quickly prepare fresh screens anytime a repeat order is needed. When you repeat jobs of the same design, you may qualify for a discounted all-inclusive price, depending on the specific print and order quantity, please contact us for details.

Why do you put a base down on dark colours?

Our standard practice is to print a base layer of ink on mid and dark coloured garments to seal the fabric before overprinting the colour you have specified. We do this to achieve a great print Bright, Smooth and Opaque!

How can I choose my print colours?

Our ink systems allow colour matching to the industry standard Pantone System (PMS). Spot colours should be specified using Solid Coated (C), Solid Uncoated (U) or Fashion (TPX, TCX) reference codes. Please keep in mind that colour perception is always subjective, and that any colour will look different when viewed under alternate lighting conditions and on computer screens. We match our colours using an up to date swatch book under controlled lighting conditions. For jobs using CMYK or Spot Process, we do our best to simulate your original artwork, however as these methods use overlapping colours to create new shades we cannot guarantee an exact match.

If you have a printed example of the colour you want us to match to, please bring or send that to us, as this helps us get the closest match for you.

How can I see a Test print of my design?

If you wish to see a test print or strike-off of your design before we proceed, we can email you a hi-res photo of the first print, or, if you are in Melbourne and available on short notice we can arrange you for you to make an on-site press check, immediately prior to bulk production.

Please note that we cannot make artwork changes at this stage. This process is made available for you to check and adjust print colours and placement only. Your subjective acceptance or non-acceptance of the print does affect any charges you incur for work done by us, and we bill for waiting time after 30 minutes.

What are the care instructions after printing?

We recommend a cold machine wash, and line dry, with the garment turned inside out. Tumble dryers may shrink the fabric or damage the print. Do not iron Plastisol, Foil or Flock. Waterbase prints may be ironed on the reverse side.

Do you do Direct to Garment Digital (DTG) printing?

No, we offer Screen printing and Transfer printing. We have researched DTG technology and found that it does not currently fit our business model due to the high cost and low productivity levels of currently available equipment. We visit tradeshows regularly to keep an eye on developments this area, and plan to reconsider this decision as the quality of the machines on offer improves.

Can I copy another design, change it a bit, and ask you to print it for me?

Please don’t. The basic test we apply to this type of copyright question is that if anyone could mistake your design for one owned by someone else, then we won’t be printing it. If you would like us to create a new design to your requirements, our design team can do this for you.
